Dr George M Moir was a member of the NZ Alpine club and he and his fellow members complied this guide to the walks of southern New Zealand. (South of Mt Cook)
The original guide books were originally published in 1925 and have been updated many times to accommodate changes in tracks and facilities. The two Moirs guide books provide great insight into tamping and outdoor survival and for anyone waking the southern region, these two books are a must read.
